I started working on a mulch bed project in my backyard. I had about 240 SF of turf to remove. I first tried using a spade shovel and then my tractor bucket. Neither did the job very effectively so I thought I’d try using my new Prohoe. To my surprise the Prohoe made very short work of the project. It is a top-notch quality tool and I’m looking forward to using it to make trails on our rural 17 acre property.
The smaller head and rake of the 55HRH is key for cutting into harder soil and breaking up roots. The shorter curved handle (hickory...and the second H in the HRH name) is fantastic when you're having to spend a significant time throwing more horsepower behind the tool. In short, this handle rocks when you're swinging as opposed to mainly pulling/raking and it still serves well enough for less barbaric modes of use.
Prohoe 55
The ProHoe is ideal for a long hike or ride into the trail for routine trail maintenance. With the ProHoe you only need one tool to accomplish so much.
