The Backslope Tools Bert is our rendition of the much-loved Lamberton Rake. With a wider head compared to a McLeod, the Bert is a wonderful finishing and shaping tool that allows for greater efficiency. A trail builder favorite that has since been discontinued, we've brought it back with the same innovations offered on the Clyde.
Stay organized with wider spacing in-between tines for easy stacking of multiple tools. And, never worry about your tools disappearing from your truck or a remote job site with eyelets compatible with a standard cable lock.
- Ideal for moving trail debris, shaping, raking
- Handle: Fiberglass
- Head Material: Heat Treated Steel
- Head Thickness: .156"
- Head Width: 15"
- Stackable for easy transport and organization
- Eyelets compatible with most locks to secure the tool in your vehicle or the field
The guys are really liking the Bert. We were looking for a wider tool to act similar to the Mclead. Although this tool has a few trade offs for being wider, it’s a great tool for finishing trail. We found in rocky terrain , it’s a great second pass tool to sift some of the finer rocks out before the finishing rake comes though. All in all, great tool, well made , and ships from folks that make a living building trail like us! Great product, get you a couple!
I have only used it to smooth 1/4 mi of trail so far, as there is snow on the ground, but it does what I need. Wide enough to pull rocks and pebbles without digging in. You will still need a McLeod or Rogue Hoe to compact though.
This tool is great for cleaning up a bench cut before tamping and moving loose material around. The generous width really levels out the trail tread in a hurry. It's well built and light weight making it easy to carry into the woods. I don't really care for normal Mcleods but I like this tool.
Needs a longer handle yet .. i want a handle the reaches my chin .. i stand 5’9” / 5’10” ... otherwise super sweet tool and love the built in features it comes with .. but it needs a longer handle ..
Bought it for trail grooming, using it for grubbing, building and smooth finish. And a med duty pick on the side. Thanks it’s great
